The coupon is valid for anyone (regardless of attendance at the event) between 10/14 and 10/21.  Please email smkosina@lbl.gov to be added to the calendar invite for the event on Monday.

Monday Oct 14, 2024 5-7PM: Please join us at the Berkeley Sports Basement community room (to the right after entering) for a presentation / group discussion on running form followed by a gait analysis clinic.  Sports Basement will also issue an additional discount the day of the event.  Please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount.


Friends/family/dogs welcome.  Food and drink are allowed as well.

Nathan Reyes is the Shoe Lead at Sports Basement Berkeley, specializing in gait analysis and white glove customer service. He co-leads the Weekly Fun Run with Brent Watts and is a passionate ultra-runner, having completed notable races such as the Broken Arrow Triple Crown, Skyline 50k, Quad Dipsea, and is set to run the Lake Sonoma Fall Classic 100k in October.

Brent Watts is the East Bay Senior Marketing Manager at Sports Basement and a former Shoe Lead at the Berkeley location. Brent co-leads the Weekly Fun Run alongside Nathan and has completed over 10 ultramarathons, including the Lake Sonoma 100k and Never Summer 100k. He’s also currently in the lottery for the Western States 100 miler. With extensive experience in customer service and deep knowledge of endurance sports, Brent has a passion for helping runners find the right shoes and gear to support their journey.

Gait Analysis Clinic Details
Nathan will lead the clinic, providing tools to help participants identify various gait styles and match them with the appropriate footwear. Attendees will pair up to analyze each other's gaits, receiving expert supervision and recommendations from Nathan.

Running Form Discussion Led by Brent
Brent will provide insights into running form techniques that promote longevity and health in the sport. He’ll share tips and tools to ensure proper form, drawing on his own experiences as an ultra-marathoner. Citing trusted sources in the running community, Brent’s discussion will serve as a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their form and build a long, healthy running career. This discussion will offer a stepping-off point for attendees to deepen their understanding of the science behind endurance sports and trail running.
